Article: A Quiet Shift, A New Beginning

A Quiet Shift, A New Beginning
It’s been a while since I last wrote here, and before anything else: thank you.
Whether you’ve shopped Creative Kind paper goods, stocked them in your shop, or simply followed along on Instagram—your support has meant the world, especially during the quiet seasons.
Looking Back to Look Forward
The past few months have been a time of transition: a new home, a change in rhythm, and some deep reflection about the future of Creative Kind.
In truth, the last couple of years have felt like a series of falling dominoes. Closing the storefronts. Letting go of my team. Returning to a solo practice. Each shift brought clarity...and a question: what comes next?
For years, Creative Kind has been rooted in place. In celebrating where we’re from. But lately, the focus has started to shift. Not away from our values, but toward something deeper.
From Overwhelm to Intention
Like many people, I’ve been feeling the weight of the world.
The headlines. The polarization. The endless doom scroll.
So many causes, and not enough clarity on where to begin.
At times, it’s felt paralyzing. I’ve found myself wanting to put down my phone – and with it, the performative urgency that sometimes feels more like checking a box than meaningful care.
Instead, I’ve started listening. More deeply.
To voices more informed and more diverse than my own.
And I’ve been asking quieter, better questions:
What does everyday engagement look like?
What does it mean to support others in a way that’s sustainable and sincere?
A New Kind of Product (And Practice)
That reflection has brought me back to something simple, but steady:
Change isn’t only made in national headlines or at massive marches.
It happens on our neighborhood sidewalks. In local bookstores. Through small, human choices made every day.
And from that belief, something new has taken shape.
It’s a paper product (of course).
But it’s also a practice.
A way to take pocket-sized steps toward the kind of world I want to live in.
It’s called A Little Lift, and I’ll be sharing more over the next few weeks.
For now, this post is just a small reintroduction. A moment to say hello again, and to share how excited I am about what’s coming.
Thanks for being here.
More soon.
